Strategize with party composition, class abilities and gear against a huge variety of dangerous monstrosities.
Combat in The Legacy Games takes place in an isometric grid, in a turn-based combat system with a strong emphasis on tactical positioning. Units have the strongest defense when being attacked frontally, you can bypass the enemy's defenses by flanking from the side and from behind. Players control a party of 4 characters and up to 6 in the later game.
Every fight has multiple ways to solve, giving players the freedom to choose any party composition. Players can choose to run the classic RPG setup of tank, dps and healer or run a team of frost sorceresses, the options are there and we want players to experiment with different team setups to suit their playstyle.
Unlike a traditional turn based tactical RPG of one move and one action per turn, characters in The Legacy Games use Action Points(AP) for movement, attacking, abilities and items. The character is able to perform as many actions so long as he has the necessary AP. This creates freedom and a deeper layer of RPG mechanics as this allows for both individual and team combos to be executed. This also applies to your enemies too! watch out for deadly combos performed especially those from bosses.
Each class has their own unique set of tools to defeat the enemy. Every character can have a maximum of four spells at any time, in which players choose from a pool of spells. In addition, two perks can be chosen to enhance and augment the character’s setup passively.
Spells also have set cooldowns, so knowing when to use them is critical to your strategy. Do you blow all the Assassin’s cooldowns this turn to kill off a weak target or do you save it for the next turn to setup a big combo, maximising the damage output?
The City of Tristan was once a mighty city, now reduced to nothing but rubble and wasted battlefields. Many citizens have already left the city after the yearly bloodshed that is The Legacy Games, but some persevered and stayed refusing to leave that which they call home.
There are four zones in The Legacy Games, delivered through a non-sequential level design that puts you in control of where to go next. But beware! each zone has its own themed horrors and some areas may prove to be more challenging than others.
Players also can choose a cleared location in each zone to setup camp, providing a means of fast travel. Camps also serve as a safe haven where characters can rest, recover and trade with travelling merchants.
